Ricoh’s new ProcessDirector 3.5 enhances support for integration and data exchange

London/Wallisellen, 11 November 2016 – Ricoh has further enhanced Ricoh ProcessDirector to streamline production with the simplified and automated exchange of data and files.

Version 3.5 of the process automation tool offers two new key benefits. Firstly, the MarcomCentral Connect feature enables seamless communication with Ricoh’s marketing asset management and web to print software, MarcomCentral. Orders placed in MarcomCentral are passed into a production workflow for tracking and fulfilment, and, using the Preference Management feature in Ricoh ProcessDirector, the appropriate communication channel is selected automatically. Once the production process is complete a notification is sent back to MarcomCentral.

Secondly, the Web Services Enablement Feature integrates with external systems for the easy exchange of data. Jobs can be created and their progress through the workflow can be monitored easily. It offers the ability to exchange a print file and content as well as the results of the processing that data has been through. Third party solutions can also communicate with Ricoh ProcessDirector 3.5 directly, such as MIS or other business management solutions.

Benoit Chatelard, Vice President, Production Printing, Ricoh Europe, explains: “It is all about making clients’ lives easier. It has simplified the exchange of data and communications between all the systems in the user’s environment and ProcessDirector. The key to Ricoh ProcessDirector 3.5 and its new features is an all-round extended capability and ease of integration. It delivers more flexible data and file communication which further develops and supports the demands of our clients’ busy production environments. This enables us to support longer term co-operation.”

Ricoh ProcessDirector 3.5 now also supports XML files as a job submission format enabling easier integration with other external solutions in the workflow. It also features a new simplified and modernised user interface. Designed with a familiar look and feel, it has improved responsiveness to common tasks such as device and job management and is more intuitive.

Added Chatelard: “We are shipping the new user interface alongside the traditional one enabling clients to use them side by side as they make the transition.”

He concludes: “Ricoh ProcessDirector 3.5 is offered as a set of modules and clients can adopt more functionality as their business grows. It is universal and can work with legacy systems so it can fit easily into existing environments.”

Ricoh Process Director 3.5. is available now across Europe.
