Warranty conditions: Ricoh Switzerland AG

Status: February 2024

Subject matter

Ricoh Schweiz AG (hereinafter referred to as "Ricoh") provides a warranty exclusively for its new (not used or refurbished) multifunction devices and printers (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Products") listed in the Annex, which were placed on the market via an official Ricoh dealer (distribution partner) in Switzerland or Liechtenstein and are purchased by a natural or legal person with registration and address in Switzerland or Liechtenstein for use in the same place (hereinafter referred to as "Customer"), to the following extent and under the following conditions:

The guarantee covers defects, manufacturing faults or malfunctions (hereinafter collectively referred to as "defects") in the hardware of the product that arise despite professional and proper use or were already present at the time of purchase. Wear parts, consumables such as toner, accessories, software and software components as well as service and maintenance activities such as driver installation and set-up assistance are not covered.

The warranty period is generally 24 months. The exact warranty period for the respective products is shown in the appendix and begins from the date of purchase (date of the purchase invoice), whereby this period is not suspended, interrupted or restarted in the event of warranty claims and services. This also applies in the event of any replacement of the product for the respective replacement device, for which no additional warranty claim applies.

The warranty does not cover defects, faults or malfunctions due to

  • non-contractual or improper use;
  • inadequate ventilation and abnormal room conditions (especially temperature, humidity);
  • Abuse or accidents;
  • damage caused by the customer or people within his sphere;
  • improper, non-contractual or insufficient maintenance, in particular by service providers not authorised by Ricoh;
  • Voltage surges including lightning strikes;
  • Use of non-Ricoh or any unsuitable consumables;
  • Interventions in the product, for example due to changes made and unsuitable interfaces to non-Ricoh devices and software.

Assertion of a warranty claim by the customer

The customer must report a defect in a product covered by the warranty exclusively to https://productquery.ricoh-europe.com/it-CH/ITDCWarranty enclosing the following information and documents:

  • Serial number of the product;
  • A copy of the proof of purchase (invoice); Ricoh reserves the right to request the original proof of purchase;
  • Place and date of purchase;
  • Distribution channel of the purchase;
  • complete details of the buyer (name, address, location of the product, telephone number, e-mail address, contact person);
  • Comprehensive description of the warranty case.

In the event of insufficient or incorrect information or if the Customer fails to comply with a request to provide Ricoh with further documents or information within ten calendar days of the request, any claim to a service shall lapse.

Any repair and service work not covered by the warranty will be charged to the customer in accordance with Ricoh's current service catalogue and invoiced to the customer.

Performance of a warranty service by Ricoh

The type of repair is at Ricoh's discretion. The search for and rectification of defects shall be carried out primarily by telephone or electronically. The defect may be rectified by supplying spare parts so that the customer can rectify the defect himself with telephone or electronic support or by means of instructions sent to him.

If this is not possible, the warranty will be granted by repair or replacement with a suitable device (including used Streamline devices).

Please note that the new device will be delivered without accessories, consumables and toner in the event of replacement. All parts and products that are replaced as part of a warranty service become the property of Ricoh.

Ricoh may use subcontractors and agents for fulfilment. The services shall be performed within Ricoh's normal business hours.

General provisions

This guarantee promise is independent of contractually agreed or statutory warranty claims.

Should a claim for damages exist, this shall be limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract, but in any case, to CHF 500,000 per claim, unless there is intent or gross negligence or damage to life, limb or health. Liability for loss of profit, loss of orders, loss of sales due to production downtime, consequential or indirect damages, contractual penalties, unrealised savings, other immaterial or non-material damages, as well as damages from third-party claims is excluded in all cases. Ricoh shall only be liable for the recovery of data to the extent that Customer has taken all necessary and reasonable data backup precautions and has ensured that the data can be reconstructed from data material in machine-readable form with reasonable effort.

Swiss law shall apply to the exclusion of its conflict of law rules, with Zurich as the exclusive place of jurisdiction. The place of fulfilment is Ricoh's registered office.

This guarantee promise is a voluntary additional service that can be changed or cancelled at any time without giving reasons, whereby products already purchased on the basis of this guarantee promise are not covered.
